• Seedance 1.0 Pro — June 11, 2025. The first public Seedance model, announced at the 2025 Volcano Engine Spring FORCE conference. Text-to-video and image-to-video, multi-shot storytelling, first/last-frame control, up to 1080p at 24fps.
• Seedance 1.5 pro — December 16, 2025. The mid-cycle upgrade whose headline feature was native synchronized audio + video (sound and picture generated together), plus multilingual lip-sync and more cinematic camera work. Note: ByteDance ships a "1.5 pro" — there is no separate non-pro "Seedance 1.5."
• Seedance 2.0 — February 12, 2026. The current mainstream version and the one most prompts today are written for. It moved to a unified multimodal approach: inputs can mix text, image, audio and video, with clips up to ~15 seconds and reference inputs of up to 9 images + 3 videos + 3 audio clips. A later 2.0 update added native 4K and 10-bit color. Seedance 2.0 reached CapCut on March 26, 2026 (branded "Dreamina Seedance 2.0").
• Seedance 2.5 — announced June 23, 2026, generally available from summer 2026. Unveiled at the Volcano Engine FORCE conference and released first as a closed enterprise beta. It generates 4–30 second clips in a single pass with audio produced alongside the picture, takes 30 image + 10 video + 10 audio references, and outputs 480p, 720p or 1080p — but not 4K, which stays a 2.0 feature. Is Seedance 2.5 out?

Yes. Seedance 2.5 was officially announced on June 23, 2026 and launched as a closed enterprise beta. The wider rollout reported for early-to-mid July 2026 (including a July 16 API date) slipped, but the release did land over the following weeks: CapCut's newsroom announced the Dreamina Seedance 2.5 rollout on July 31, 2026, and by August 2026 the model was documented on ByteDance's own Ark and BytePlus ModelArk APIs and live on Sunra, fal and Replicate.

What ByteDance announced for 2.5, and what the shipped model does:

• 4–30 second clips in a single generation — no stitching required.
• Up to 50 reference inputs in one prompt: 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio files.
• Audio generated with the picture, in the same pass.
• Localized, controllable editing — change part of a shot without regenerating the whole clip. This one was announced but isn't something you can confirm from the generation routes, so treat it as a claim rather than a feature you can plan around.

One common mix-up: 4K resolution belongs to a Seedance 2.0 update, not 2.5. A lot of SEO pages pair "30 seconds" with "4K" for 2.5 — that pairing doesn't exist. Seedance 2.5 tops out at 1080p, so 2.0 stays the version to reach for when you need 4K.
