2.5 is not the 4K model — native 4K shipped as a Seedance 2.0 update. Localized controllable editing was announced but isn't something we can confirm on the generation routes, and there's no first-party public rate card.

- Available now: Seedance 2.5 is generally available on Sunra as of August 2026 — 4–30 second clips, 480p/720p/1080p, synced audio, up to 50 reference inputs, and up to four outputs per run. It sits behind a subscription and bills in credits by duration and resolution.
- Everywhere else: Seedance 2.5 is also live on Dreamina and CapCut, on ByteDance's own Volcano Engine Ark and BytePlus ModelArk APIs, and on partner platforms fal and Replicate. Note that not every route exposes every tier — fal, for one, publishes only 480p and 720p.
- How it got here: announced June 23, 2026 at Volcano Engine FORCE and launched into a closed enterprise beta. The “early July” consumer window and the widely reported July 16 API opening both passed without a launch. The first dated first-party marker of the wider rollout is CapCut's July 31, 2026 newsroom post on Dreamina Seedance 2.5; ByteDance never posted a single dated “2.5 is generally available” announcement of its own.
- Still reported, not confirmed: a Dreamina long-video mode extending 30-second scenes toward 90- and 180-second outputs. Nothing we can verify generates past 30 seconds in a single pass.

4 to 30 seconds in a single generation — no stitching. That's double Seedance 2.0's ~15-second ceiling, and it's what makes a full scene that builds, holds, and resolves practical in one pass.
Will Seedance 2.5 generate 3-minute videos?
Not in one generation on the routes we can verify — 2.5 tops out at 30 seconds per run. Third-party reports describe a Dreamina long-video mode that extends 30-second scenes into 90-second drafts and up to 180-second outputs. Until ByteDance documents it, treat the 3-minute figure as unverified.
What's new in Seedance 2.5?
Three things you can verify in the shipped model: clips of 4–30 seconds in a single generation (2.0 stops around 15), up to 50 reference inputs in one prompt — 30 images, 10 videos and 10 audio clips, against 2.0's 9 + 3 + 3 — and audio generated in step with the picture. ByteDance also announced localized controllable editing; that one is an announcement claim rather than something we can confirm from the generation routes. Note that native 4K belongs to a Seedance 2.0 update, not 2.5: 2.5 offers 480p, 720p and 1080p.
What resolutions does Seedance 2.5 support?
480p, 720p and 1080p, with 720p as the default. Aspect ratios cover 21:9, 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 and 9:16, plus an adaptive option that follows your reference. If you specifically need 4K, that's Seedance 2.0, not 2.5.
What does Seedance 2.5 cost?
It depends on the platform. On Sunra it's part of the subscription and billed in credits that scale with clip duration and resolution, so a 30-second 1080p clip costs materially more than a 5-second 480p one. ByteDance has not published a first-party public rate card for 2.5, so check the live rate on whichever platform you use rather than trusting a figure from a blog.
