What is Seedance 2.0?
Seedance 2.0 is ByteDance's current-generation AI video model, released in February 2026. It's a unified multimodal generator — it takes text, image, audio, and video inputs and produces short clips (up to ~15 seconds) with native audio, cinematic motion, and strong prompt control. A later update added native 4K output.
It's the version most Seedance prompts are written for today. Its successor, Seedance 2.5, was announced in June 2026 but is still rolling out — so 2.0 is the one you can actually use right now. See the version timeline for the full picture, or Seedance 1.0 for where the line started.
Text-to-video
Describe a scene, camera move, and style — Seedance renders it as a short clip. Ideal for original ideas and establishing shots.
Image-to-video
Upload a still and describe the motion. Great for animating a specific character, product, or photo while keeping its look.
Camera control
Pans, dollies, tracking, and drone moves — describe them in plain language and the model interprets them.
Stylized output
From photoreal cinematic footage to 2D anime and clean product shots, styling is driven by your prompt.
Is Seedance 2.0 free?
Seedance 2.0 is the model, not a single app — so whether it's free depends on where you run it. Several platforms offer free daily credits or trial tiers (usually with a watermark or a daily cap), alongside pay-as-you-go and subscription options for more or higher-quality generations. The prompts on this site are always free to copy.
