How to Access Seedance 2.5: Every Route, Compared

Seedance 2.5 was announced on June 23, 2026, spent its first months in a closed enterprise beta, and is now available across every major route. So "how to access it" is no longer a waiting game — it's a question of which door suits you. Here's the honest map.

First, the status

Seedance 2.5 is generally available. It's live on Sunra, on Dreamina and CapCut, on ByteDance's own Volcano Engine Ark and BytePlus ModelArk APIs, and on the partner platforms fal and Replicate. The closed beta and the missed July dates are history — see the release timeline for how that unfolded.

One caveat that matters before you pick a route: not every platform exposes every quality tier. The model itself does 480p, 720p and 1080p, but fal publishes only 480p and 720p, so a fal-routed integration can't reach 1080p at all.

The zero-setup route

If you just want clips and not an integration, skip the API entirely:

1. Grab a proven prompt — browse Seedance 2.5 prompts.
2. Run it on Sunra, where Seedance 2.5 is live on a subscription — no keys, no approval step, no per-provider billing to wire up.
3. Judge the output, keep what works, iterate on the prompt rather than the plumbing.

Official ByteDance routes

• Dreamina / CapCut — ByteDance's consumer creation platforms, where 2.5 sits at the top of the model list. Dreamina serves international creators; Jimeng (the China app) generally requires a Chinese phone number. CapCut announced the rollout on July 31, 2026 for subscriber accounts across Europe, Asia, the Middle East and South America.
• Volcano Engine (Ark) API — the direct, programmatic route in China, model ID doubao-seedance-2-5-260628. Aimed at businesses and production pipelines, and gated on account standing rather than open signup.
• BytePlus ModelArk — the international API surface, model ID dreamina-seedance-2-5-260628. This is the route that documents the full tier range: 480p and 720p at 8-bit, 1080p at 10-bit, 24fps, 4–30 second durations.
• Doubao — ByteDance's assistant app, part of the China-first rollout.

Authorized partner APIs

• fal — bytedance/seedance-2.5 in text-to-video, image-to-video and reference-to-video flavours, billed per second. 480p and 720p only.
• Replicate — bytedance/seedance-2.5, with a browser playground alongside the API, 4–30 second durations.

Both are simpler to adopt than Ark if you're already on a Western stack. As always, be wary of smaller "Seedance API" gateways that are resellers routing to one of the above rather than authorized integrations.

International access (no VPN needed)

Outside China the practical routes are Sunra, Dreamina international, and BytePlus ModelArk, fal or Replicate for API access — none of them need Jimeng or a Chinese phone number.

A content-policy heads-up

Like other ByteDance video models, Seedance applies content moderation — realistic human faces, public figures, and certain sensitive content are restricted. Some coverage has also raised copyright questions around long AI clips, so keep commercial rights and platform terms in mind for anything you publish.
